    Policies

The Practice works with all known insurance carriers in the area, including all types of managed Medicaid and non-managed Medicaid. We provide equal access to all patients, regardless of insurance status. As per our policy, uninsured patients are seen and will receive a 30% discount from our posted rates if they pay at the time of service. We also work with patients to create financial plans if the cost of care exceeds their ability to pay.

Our back-office staff can also help families arrange care through the state Medicaid program. We provide immunizations through the ‘Vaccines for Children Fund’ [VFC] for all uninsured patients or those who have any type of Medicaid. Our staff billing manager will talk with patients before or after a visit and explain how these policies, as well as state and national health care payment structures, applies to them individually.

    1. HIPAA Notification Our practice has implemented the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act to protect the privacy of the patient’s health information. In your absence we will request from the person with your child some form of photo ID for comparison to your child's patient profile that you have completed giving specific persons permission for Consent for Treatment and Patient Health information. If the person with your child is not listed on the Patient Profile, our office will be contacting you. As well, anyone other than the parent picking up prescriptions, forms or any other information on your child will also need to present photo ID.
    2. Current Information As a patient at Atlantic Coast Pediatrics you are required to notify our staff of any changes in your patient information, such as insurance, benefits, employer, patient name, home address and/or contact numbers. You will be asked to present your current insurance cards at each appointment.
    3. Late Policy You have the responsibility to arrive at our office at your scheduled appointment time. Atlantic Coast Pediatrics reserves the right to reschedule patients that show up 20 minutes late for their appointment.
